Getting There

How do I get there from Samui airport?
We can pick you up from Samui airport. Please book here:  https://crystalbaysamui.com/airport-pick-up/ . Pick up is 600 THB for a mini van which can fit up to 9 people.

How do I get there from Suratthani airport?
We arrive at Surat-Thani Airport, how can we get to your resort? Once you arrive at the airport, there are services available on-site either by taxi, mini-van or bus to take you to the ferry in Donsak which will head straight to Samui Island.

Could you pick us up from the ferry?
We do not provide transfer from any pier due to the flexible arrival time of the boat and there is more than one pier. However, there are plenty of taxi drivers waiting at the pier for the ferry to arrive for new customers. We can arrange a private transfer to the pier on your way back instead. Costs will be between 400 and 600 THB for a private taxi and will take about 30 Mins.

Rooms and Rates

What types of rooms are available in the resort?
The resort has nine room categories: Economy, Standard, Superior, Sea View, Sea View-Deluxe, Beachfront Balcony, Beachfront Deluxe, Beachfront Deluxe Terrace and Grand Sea View Deluxe. All room categories can be booked through our website.

Are your resort rates per room or per person?
The rates charged are per room although there will be an additional cost for an extra bed (7 years or older). Baby cots and roll out beds for small children are free.

Does my room reservation require any guarantee?
All room reservations require a credit card guarantee, deposit by bank transfer or walk in payment.

How do I cancel my resort reservation without a charge?
To cancel your booking without incurring any charge, please read the policy on your reservation.  Non refundable bookings are strictly non refundable.  If you are not 100% sure you will be able to make your reservation then chose our flexible rate or make sure your insurance covers you.  For flexible bookings you’ll automatically be charged a 30% deposit at least 30 days prior to arrival. The deposit is non-refundable.

How many people can stay in one room?
Each guest room can accommodate a maximum of three people. Except for the Economy, Superior and Sea-View. Please note that the extra bed will be a rollaway bed.

Do you offer discounts for a group booking?

Do you have a pet policy?
We regret that animals are not allowed in the resort.

Does the room rate include breakfast?
We have both with breakfast and room only rates, please check carefully.

What are the standard check-in and check-out times of the resort?
The standard check-in time is 14:00 hrs. And check-out is at 11:00 hrs.

Is it possible to check-in earlier?
It is sometimes possible to check in earlier, however, this depends on availability and cannot be guaranteed. However, to be sure of having the room ready upon arrival, you can reserve the room from the night before.

Do you provide a service for late check-out?
Late check-out is possible as subject to availability upon request at the reception.

Are king-sized beds available in the rooms?
Yes, we have king-sized top quality beds in all the rooms regarding Sea View or Beachfront.
Do you have rooms with a bathtub?
No, none of the rooms have a bathtub.

What television channels are available in the rooms?
We have 20 channels in guest rooms. These are as follows although they are subject to change: TV 3 (Thai), TV 5 (Thai), TV 7 (Thai), TV 9 (Thai), NBT (Thai), CNN, BBC-London, Star Movies, Star Sport Channel, HBO Movie Channel, Bloomberg, ET TV-N-Asia, TV 5 (France), DW (Germany), Australia Network, NNK (Japanese), News Asia, Animal Planet, Classical Music, Jazz Music.

Do you have non-smoking rooms?
Yes, smoking is prohibited in all rooms.

Is there a safety deposit box available at the resort?
There is a safety deposit box in every guest room.

Is a babysitting service available?
Sorry, we do not have babysitting service available.

What facilities are available for children?
High chairs are available in all our restaurants. The poolside may be used only under parental supervision. We have some children’s water toys available on request at the reception.

Are baby cots available for the rooms?
Baby cots are available free of charge on request.

Are high chairs available in the restaurant?
Yes, we do have high chairs available in our restaurant.

Where is breakfast served and at what times?
A breakfast buffet & a la carte is served in the Restaurant from 07:00-10:30 hrs.

Is vegetarian cuisine available in the restaurants?
A selection of vegetarian dishes are available.

General Information

Can I connect to the Internet from my room?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas. We have one of the best systems on Koh Samui with a dedicated 50MB leased line.

Is there a swimming pool in the resort?
There is one outdoor swimming pool near the restaurant.

Do you have hairdryers in the rooms?
Hairdryers are available on request at the reception.

How do I get to the resort?
Crystal Bay Beach Resort is located just between Chaweng & Lamai, right after the Cliff Restaurant. About 20 Min. driving from the Koh Samui international airport.

Do you have any special packages for honeymoons and anniversaries?
Special packages are available for guests celebrating a special occasion. Please contact reception.

Do you have a tour desk where I can book excursions during my stay?
Yes, we have tour agent at the reception to make recommendations and book tours according to your needs.

Do you have special facilities and services available for the disabled guests?
Unfortunately, at the moment we do not have special services or facilities available for disabled guests, we will make adjustments in the future.

Is a doctor available at the resort?
We have a doctor on call 24 hours.

How far is the nearest hospital to the resort?
The Bangkok Hospital is the nearest which is around 5 Km away from the resort. It takes around 10 minutes by taxi.

Where is the nearest bank or currency exchange?
Dollars and Euro can be exchanged at our reception. The nearest bank is located 5 min. away by taxi. We have an ATM on-site.

What is the currency in Thailand?
The currency in Thailand is Baht. Check the current exchange rate online. (We recommend the Krungsri bank website.)

At what time do the banks open?
Banks are open from 09:30-15:30 hrs. Monday to Saturday only.

What voltage do you use in Thailand?
The electricity voltage in Thailand is at 220 volts. We do not have adaptors available at the resort. You can buy them at Family Mart which is 250 metres walk.

What is the VAT refund system in Thailand?
Tourists are able to claim back the VAT on larger purchases when they exit the country. The stores at Central Festival do provide the necessary forms for completion and will assist you.
Is it safe to drink tap water in Thailand?
The tap water in Thailand is not potable. Complimentary drinking water is provided in all guest rooms.

What is the weather like at different times of the year?
As a general guideline, the weather in Thailand is warm all year round. However, the weather is generally most pleasant from September to October when there are clear skies and sunshine. The hot season is from April and May, when temperatures reach their highest. The rainy season is between November and January although it does not rain every day and usually the rain only lasts for an hour or so in the evening.

What should I wear in Thailand?
Thai people are quite modest. Conservative dress is recommended. Shorts and sleeveless vests cannot be worn to visit a temple.

Are there any golf courses near the resort?
Yes, there are two golf courses on the Island. The Royal Samui Country Club is nearest with only 10 Km. distance from Crystal Bay Beach Resort. And the Santiburi Samui Country Club in Maenam.

Shopping

Are there any shopping centers near the resort and if so, where are they?
The tesco lotus is nearest in Lamai with a distance between 5-8 Km. Tesco Lotus in Chaweng also has a bowling court and a movie theatre available. The Central Festival in the middle of Chaweng offers various restaurants and shops and “The Wharf” in Bophut for different style of shopping and dining.

How far is the resort from the downtown shopping areas?
It is around 10 minutes to downtown Lamai and 15 – 120 minutes to downtown Chaweng. (Cost depending on travel time and exact destination, approx. 100-450 Baht)

What are the local tourist attractions?
The main tourist attractions such as the Big Buddha Temple, Hin Ta Hin Yai, Mummified Monk and the waterfalls

What is the best way to see the Island of Samui?
There are many excellent tours on offer—so the choice is yours. Please ask at the reception.
